The Forgotten Valley - 60l

Thanks for interest,

i now dose 5ml TPN+ daily
for co2, i am taking my nutrafin of my other tank and putting it on this one as i am getting a pressurized system
fauna - 15 enndlers, 8 red cherry shrimp, 4 ottos (this will stay like this unless they breed, shrimps & endlers already have)
I only use the 36w PC and i am still considering downgrading the light to get even lower maintenance, all the plants are low light.

Pics will follow shortly, i will do a w/c later and then i take a few :)

Thanks, Aaron

Pics as promised, it is a little cloudy from w/c, i will take a newer pic tommorow

Thanks, Aaron

Looks great :good: Btw, how did you do that with your hairgrass, take it outta the pot and seperate them? Did you trim them down to get them shorter?

Thanks, i seperated them into small clumps, about 2cm wide then spread them about the tank, i trim them every so often, plants love to be trimmed! i will be keeping it shorter than that so it will look like grass. It will have a bit of shape to it though, it will get higher towards the back etc, something i'm not looking forward to!

Thanks, Aaron

It looks excellent much better without the moss balls.
Good job.

Looks really good aaron, I like the simple choice of plants, and the modest hardscape - I think corys would like it

Looks lovely, that wood in particular is brilliant,

The endlers look teensy in there, but I like that, it makes it seem much bigger and having to look for the fish adds interest!

Thanks everyone, the moss balls were just to help with algae, eventually i think i am going to change the endlers to a larger fish like neon tetras although i am really liking the harlequin rasboras at the moment.

i just think its not quite there yet like its missing something the colours are all too light maybe add a windelov fern thats dark green or some red plant.... just a though

I am having this all green and really lush looking, windelov fern - i thought about that when setting it up, i let the java fern and one of the small a.swords grow in a bit then i might consider it,

all suggetions welcome :D

I haven't updated this in a while, it has gone through a few rescapes! Sorry about the quality, took it on phone camera:

i added the windelov fern in the end, and i chucked the large anubias by accident :( I wasn't going to use it but someone cpuld of made use of it.

It is now more like an iwagumi:

A UKAPS member is sending me some dwarf riccia and some willow moss, i am going to add a small leafed stem behind the largest rocks, and i am temted to get some Pogostemon Helferi.

Just reading through this Aaron and I notice you said the moss balls were just there to help with algae??? I assume you did know that moss balls are algae really and that moss balls is just a name that has stuck.

Looking good anyway. Like the sand, looks real. I like sand when it gets a little dirty and stained instead of clean and bright.
