The Adventures Of A Marine Newbie...

 @ tank #3. I need to get saving then. Mind you I love my nanos so much I can't bear to even think about breaking them down!

It's mainly on the setting after the Auto one...for fast shutter speeds. That and the 'M' setting and the rest is just point and click

No other KZ supplements are used Issey. In fact, since I started using D-D H2Ocean salt, I hardly need to supplement magnesium now and nothing else depleats that much either :D

On mine the setting after auto is P, then S, I use mainly A, S and M. Have found some better than others if using blue light though. I also have the colour changed to Chrome and use 200 ISO for corals and 400 + for fish. Just wondered if you used anything different, always good to get someones elses perspective.

I also suppose the lights you have on over the tank will show the corals in different lights, I do sometimes change the white balance and shadows etc on computer after, depends on the shot.

I am tempted to try the polli or pocci (still cannot remember) aswell as that seems to be for enhancing colours.

I am now very intrigued, I have looked at some of the range and decided I won't bother but I think I would like to see what difference that one made. The difference with the amino acid drops is so immense.

I agree with you though, some of those corals have immense colouring anyway. That though I suppose is why corals such as Acanths and ricordeas etc are so expensive. Having said that though, once I have changed my other PC bulb, they may show completely different colouring anyway.

:hyper: WOW! Your tank looks even more fab jennybugs!
As ever - brilliant tank & pictures & entertaining commentry too. Thanks for sharing.
Hope you are feeling better.

Liz

Thanks Liz! I amindeed feeling so much betterthanI did before my heart op. Almost back to my old energetic self again :D

Tina...I tend to hang around and wait for highly coloured corals to apear in the shops. I didn't want to fall into the trap of having a small tank filled with brown corals

I don't blame you and I think it has made such a difference to the tank for it. Just means I am going to be looking out for some of them now!!

I presume you go on delivery day to get the best pick.

I have no idea when delivery day is at my LFS  I keep in touch with the guys who run the marine section so often get a heads up when good stuff is coming out of QT :D Other than that it's just a case of trying to be patient

Wish I could afford some of those rainbow acans, things cost as much as a first born around here :)

wow! I have just sat & read this thread from start to finish & your tank is amazing!

jenny I love your lps especially. They have my heart

Can I ask how much you paid for the rainbow acan?? If you don't mind.

Well this thread is now officially finished

The tank stands in the corner dismantled, with just a bit of water and sand in the bottom.

The residents are now in the Edge, the 30L cube, a polystyrene carton and the Blube, not to mention various buckets.

It's been a good tank, so much so that I am not selling it on. This one's a keeper as I have future plans for it :D

It's sad to shut it down, but I told Alfred, when he refused to come out of 'his' little rock, that once he's had a wee rest in the poly box, he will next be entering a most wondrous new home indeed :D
