My dad has just found this UK based site which sells the TetraTec EX 1200 for just under £60!
Has anyone used this site before? It seems too good to be true...

Just bought one, for my 35g.

These filters kick out some serious current. A 35G is going to be like a wirl pool.

My dad works for Royal Mail and they recently had 3 days off last week (up until wednesday), they also have new years day off. It should arrive Thursday or Friday...i hope.

How much was postage? And did it come with media and all attatchments?

I have also found this price on aquatics-online (comes with media and think p+p free (over £50), so just wondered which is cheapest overall.

I contcted Tetratec twice about the filter and the service recived is the best I have had for any customer service based company.

Highly recommended.

Did you by any chance receive an email telling you when they dispatched the filter, and posted it? Or do they just send it with no confirmation?

They emailed to tell me when they had dispatched If I remember correctly It took less than 48hrs.

Shroob; yes, the Tetratecs come complete with everything - pipework, tubing, all filter media; I bought an EX700 for my 4ft a year ago (my first external filter) and I wish I'd done it much earlier. They're fabulous things; if you're thinking of getting one, do it now - they're an absolute no-brainer. As for customer service, I contacted Tetra after I accidentally broke the clips on one of the taps - they sent me two new ones free of charge within two days. That's how to keep customers.

Right, it has arrived!

It was pretty simple to setup, but i have a few questions.

Do you have to use the spraybar? As i removed the spraybar and i let the water flow freely through the 90 degree pipe. I have also removed the carbon from the first basket, as it was very black. And i didn't know how to place it correctly. Will this effect the filter? As the first basket is only half full of media...
