The first was second hand from ebay. leaked then sparked then didn't work
The second brand new from Aquatics-online. Set it at 25degrees. worked for 4 hours then buzzed like hell. turned it on next day and silence. 1 hour later the damn thing was red hot and the water was 30. The unit was sparking inside.
The third has been running for 2 days now and no problems.
According to Paul @ Hydor both the first 2 were not from the original 'recalls' he asked forthe batch no off the boxes, and therefore I ditched the second hand one, and sent the second back to Aquatics online and they sent a replacement.
AM = Aquatic Magic. I bought the glass pipes for £22.50 including shipping although that was an offer up to 15/07/07 to APC members. I'm sure Mike would give you a good deal. I bought all of my glassware from them, Rhinox 2ooo, GambaXII NRV and Bubble counter, drop checker and now the flo pipes.
I only have a pic of the outflow in my tank. The inflow is hidden by plants. lol
