On a roll??? Have tank filled and SG ok, temperature running about 81F, heater turned way back so that is not the problem, I am running 2 powerheads, have taken out one to see if the temp comes down. Concerned, have ordered rock and it is to be here to-morrow 3/5, is there much danger in putting the live rock in the tank to start the cycle, this is all new tank cycle? Sorry to be a pest again, but have cut off PVC pipe(for elevating rock), and the cutting and sanding leaves some"feathering" small PVC particles which could possibly be dislodged, would this be harmful? I know I'm a mess, but I have ordered some Chemi-pure and Purigen to put in the filter space, has not arrived as yet, will it be ok to add this when it arrives even though cycling has started or should it be there anyway whilw cycling? One more, I've read, leave lights off during cycling, is this correct? Please bear with me!!!!!!

Thanks again very much

Ok ummm, 81 is not a problem NOW in the winter, but things will only get harder in the summer, so this issue will need to be looked at over the coming month or two.

PVC shreds shouldn't be a problem, they're inert.

Chemipure and Purigen should remain out of the water until livestock is in. No need during cycling.

Leave the lights on for say 6hrs during cycling.

not until it goes over 85 will you need to worry

whats the room temp?

Thanks very much SkiFletch, since I took out the one powerhead staying at 80, I keep the house at 70 so I guess theoretically the 80 could hold in the summer too, but I'll definetly take your advice and keep warchingf the situation. Just finished drilling bunch of holes in the PVC hopefully for circulation. Appreciate so very much you relieving my concerns, seems like every day I spend a
$170 here and $110 there and when I don't know what I'm doing I get the "puckers"!! You relieved my apprehension.

Thanks again

Thanks Musho- I keep the room temp around 70-72, the tank temp has settled back now to 80 since I took out the 2nd powerhead,
what I had done was bought Maxi-jet 1200 to replace the furnished pump for the Aquapod 24gal, at one time they had temp
problems, but supposedly that was fixed with two fans, originally only having one. I haven't been using the lights much either since
basically I'm just playing around till the LR gets here, leak check etc. Truly appreciate your input.

Thanks again

Thanks to all for help, temp has stabilized at 78 or set point, figured what had happened I apparently had higher temp water at fulling and the rsidual heat just took that long to come down, do appreciate the help though, this newbie is apprehensive about
messing up!!

Thanks much
