As some of you might have read from the buy & sell part of the forum, I am moving, so am having to re-home my fish and sell my tanks. The only tank that I can keep is 24"length X 18"depth X 12" & at the moment it houses 2 (very) small golden nugget plecs, a small albino plec, & a baby Sydontis catfish. Since I have managed to rehome most of my fish, and move others to other tanks for the time being.
My question is first, how do I work out how many gallons/litres this tank is? Also, what shall I stock it with? I was thinking one large(ish) fish, but dont really think there would be enough room, and also I am going to plant it, so I want something that wont destoy all my plants =]
I have been trying to find something that is sort of unusual, but not too hard to keep, and something that looks nice. So far, I havnt had much luck trying to find anything.

Thanks in advance
xXx

P.S - I know it sounds bad; *I'm moving, so have sold fish, but am now looking to buy more*... but I wont be buying these new fish until we have settled properly so it wont be straight away, & the reason I have sold my other fish is because I cannot take them with me obviously, and this tank was always a sort of spare tank anyway, but as its the only 1 I can take with me I thought I would think of something to put it in!! ;)

EDIT: Forgot to say that catfish will be moved elsewhere soon!!

Well you do know that tank is going to get VERY over crowded with 3 plecs in there unless you re-home them when they get bigger.

As for a nice feature fish in such a small tank, some of the dwarf goramis are very strking although finding healthy specimins can be hard.
some apistogramma would also be a lively addition they colour up lovely when they hit adulthood

Thanks, yeah I am going to move the plecs lol it wouldnt be fair to keep them in there!!
I have kept gouramis in the past; I might think about them again, but in the mean time I will research apistogramma and see if I like them lol =]

Thanks again
xx

no problems

and the tank is way to small for angels.

they would be having there feelers trailing on the substrate all the time

Thanks for the replies =]
This may sound stupid, but if I got a shoal of maybe 20 cardinal tetras, would the cats eat them? =[

Depends on the syno. and the size of it.... Is the albino plec a common or a BN? I'd say if you got rid of all the fish you have in there now, something like a snakehead or a puffer would be a good fish for the tank.
