It was because of all of you that my tank is going sooo well, I recently got a new light, dont remember the specs of it right now, but it makes the lighting have a blueish tint, we also changed out the blue gravel for black, and replaced all fake plants with live ones. I wanted to share the most recent pics and thank everyone for answering all my questions.

I am loving fish keeping and we plan on getting many more tanks soon!

Much better :good: . Though the variegated plant at the back right hand side (after, back left hand side before) of the tank is non-aquatic and will just slowly die and pollute the water in your tank, and the grass at the front doesn't look like a real plant

ohh, the grass in the front is breeding grass, in case the guppy gives birth before we get our other tank

and the plant you are talking about, you mean the short one below the filter? (in the after?) that one hasnt grown a bit-- we got it from the pet stores tank, but they are not the best at fish keeping as I learned (they tell everyone to cycle with fish!!!) or do you mean the long leafed one? Thanks so much! I will take it out as soon as I know which one!

oooo ok the non aquatic stuff... haha i was confused and thought you meant that it was real and I was wondering where in the heck you could find such nice trimmed grass... Tells how ignorant I am

I'm sorry to disappoint you but the betta doesn't belong there as the guppys will be attacked and the neons will nip his fins. The neons need to be in groups of 6.

This one :). Most places sell non-aquatic plants, some people buy them even knowing this because they look nice.
But if you take that plant out and put in in a pot on your windowsill, it will grow :good:.

thanks! We will be taking that plant out asap! :)

as for the beta, we have had no problems with him at all, he leaves everyone alone and they leave him alone, he has been in the tank with them since december, and I watch them all the time (i spend about 2 hours a day watching them LOL, I have no life!)

we just bought an additional 5 gallon tank for the guppy when she has her babies, i cant wait!
