Im breeding common bns in a 125 litre tank with a shcool of corys aswell, their is lots of room in their, i know previously they were breeding in a 50 litre tank, but i would say 50litre or above would be ideal, if you planning on more than 1 pair then i would go bigger.

Many Thanks for the information.

used to use an over filtered 2ft (50L) for a trio of commons - so anything bigger than that should be fine - the bigger the better - the 2ft was always needing the filter cleaning out !

Hi Dave

It all depends on how many you are thinking of keeping? I have a breeding group of 8 in a 240 with stacks of bogwood etc. I really wouldn't want to go any smaller than that with them. They still have the odd fall out in that sort of size tank so can imagine it would be even worse in a smaller tank.

Hayley :)
