Good news! my water peramiters seemed to have levelled out!
pH: 6.6 / 6.8
GH: 3dH
KH: 1dH
I continued with my test samples. I did a 100% water change in one of the tubs that had sand in and since changing the water last week the pH has reduced significantly. This has proved that the sand does leach out the calcium residue that has originally come from the rock.
secondly the tub with the biomedia has also had a water change a week ago and the pH and GH levels have stayed the same. This proves that the boimedia does also increase the pH and GH levels in your tank.
