Tank Mini Cycle!!!

I've bought a Fluval filter 304 and took out the old filter toooooo early, so right now I have a mini cycle going through in the tank. And now I've put in Nitra-zorb.

My question is:
Will Nitra-zorb lower the readings when testing the water? Or it'll just reduce the toxicity of nitrite and nitrate?

I have never heard of nitra-zorb but normally these so called "magic cycle chemicals" don't work as they say. Nothing beats the good old fashioned cycle... Well maybe the fishless cycle...
