Tank Cycling Question

if we add water from a cycles tank filter to a new tank how fast will it cycle???

Water wont really do anything, but if you can get water with a squeezing of someones filter then it could be around 2 weeks for it to fully cycle.

ya that is what i was asking if i squeeze my filter and add that water to new tank so it'll take 2 weeks to cycle right thanks

ya it is i've had that tank for months now so no issues there asked this question on behalf of a friend of mine he just got a new tank so i gave him some water from my filter he was in a hurry to put fish so

p.s. i care for my fish as well as my wallet always run fishless cycles lol

hey btw this is way too off topic but still i've put 2 black ghost knifefish in my discus tank they are tiny but i don't see them at all one is behind the filter totally out of view and the other one just hides in the decoration pot i've put in so i don't know if they get to eat anything i put in i use tetra bits they sink after being nipped at by the neons and then the discus go at them picking them up from the gravel...

what do you think i should do don't say put them in differnet tanks i don't have one and can't get one for at least 10 more days then i've to think where to put it too lol...

Well, by the looks of it your only option is to leave them where they are. Hopefully, they should settle down and stop hiding so much after a while. Also, they may eat at night when the lights are off and when you're not looking.

I'm sure they won't. Fish can actually last up to a week without food so there shouldn't be a problem.

so now i can sleep and figure out a way to some how convince my mom that we need a new fish tank that i can't keep in my room and make her have it in her bedroom lol
