First off I have read the post rockwall background,it looks really good and is an inspiration to sub aqua civil engineers everywhere. However maybe its just a matter of opinion but I'm not sure about having unsealed tank decoration. Anyway heres my question.
I have an existing Malawi community setup which I would like to redecorate. My tank is 48"x18"x15" and currently has at one end bogwood and plants, at the other is a rainbow rock rockery, which conceals some plant pots. I would like to expand on the rockery so that it will become the background for the tank but 1, I haven't got a huge amount of money to buy a couple of tonne of rock  and 2, as it is an existing set up I do not have the time to spend gluing pieces of rock together with silicone in order to create the said background  . However I have read articles on home made backgrounds, this involves carving pieces of polystyrene to desired shapes and coating them with concrete, these are then glued to a piece of e.g. slate to form modules that can be placed in the tank.
My question is before they are glued together the individual pieces will have to be sealed to make them fish friendly :D , does anyone know of a sealer that would be suitable for the job that is available in the UK ? This sealer would preferably be clear so that I can airbrush my desired finish on the false rockery. Thanks in advance.

Thanks sapper, this looks like just the stuff. Unfortunately my workshop is the great outdoors, so this this job will have to wait for finer weather. Or am I just a southern softy. :smb:
