Talk About Tame Clowns

Hey Lorne. I agree, 75 Gallons is too small for the lifetime of the loaches. But theoretically speaking 38 loaches in a 212 G tank have 5.6 G per loach space where 6 loaches in a 75 gallon will have double that at 12.5G each, if stocking levels are considered.  Some of them can get to 16 inches in captivity but the average size in the wild is 8 inches from what I've read.

It's not all about how many gallons they have, as Clowns swim very close to each other, it is about space to swim, they are a fast fish and like to do short bursts of speed, so need the length of tank

Also, you figures are the wrong way around, they reach 16" in the wild, 8-10 usually in captivity, although the big ones in the wild have been decimated for the hobby, which is why Borneo has slapped an export ban on the larger fish :)

No, the stuff I read was about in the wild. Apparently the fishermen said the average they catch are 8 inches. I presume that doesn't mean they don't find bigger speciments. I can find the article. I read it twice around on the net.
I understand about space to swim, hence 75G won't cut it long term but I compared stocking wise/water quality wise. 6 clowns in a 75 gallon will live fine for the first 3-4 years, then they'll need a bigger tank.
