Hey guys,
Last night we were sat at home, (picture the scene) Mr & Mrs saddo staying in on a Friday night. Anyway I digress.
Suddenly she who must be obeyed said "that was a good tv program wasn't it "
It was then that I realised I had just spent the most pleasant last half hour watching my fish tank.

Ijust wondered does this happen to others ? :D

All the time. I enarly had the groceiers stolen from my car today as I was halfway through bringing them in and got distracted by my fish. I was thinking how purdy they are when I realised the boot of the car was open and some weirdo was standing at the end of my driveway

I tend to be pulled towards my fish tank by some unnatural gravitational force when the news is on and Dads home.... :D

I sit and watch my fish most nights and find it far more interesting than Eastenders of Coronation Street which is the alternative (other half is obsessed with soaps).

hehe i regulary go to do somthing like getting ready to go out and get distracted by my tanks, ill just sit there and wacth them and think oh crap the time better get ready !!! :p

I moved all but 1 tank out of my bedroom so I could get ready in the morning without distracton. I should've moved that 1 too. :fun:

I do spend a lot of time watching my other tanks out in the living room. We don't have cable or satellite or an antenna so all we watch is videos I have seen before. The fish are more interesting sometimes.

I can watch my fish for hours. They are so much better than any TV show. My 55G is always alive with activity. I keep most my tanks in my office. They are a great excuse for not cleaning.

i love watching my tanks like sometimes i will post a topic on here and then it will take me 30 minutes to finish cause my betta catches my eye :p i also find myself take better care of my fish than i do myself.. one time i went a few days with out showering cause one of my fish was sick and was watching her like a hawk.. sometimes i will stay at home and not go visit my mum :p just because i want to see my fish, they are my children, i dont trust them with ANYBODY!!!! i love you babies :) *hugs for all my fishies*

Yup.

Fish > T.V. (Unless it's "Blow Out" or "Lost".)

so i guess you could say:

Fish > T.V. - (BlowOut + Lost)

Not even any blooming fish in my tank yet but I still wind up watching plants waft in the current, deciding to rake a bubble out of the sand, or picking material collecting by the filter out of the tank.

I think it's more of a comment on the state of tv at the moment rather than a hypnotic quality to my aquarium!
