hi all
well i have a complicated question ok to start off here is my present set up
#1 5gl tank with light and (internal)sting ray filter has male betta and small pleco
#2 10gl tank with light and aquaclear 20 filter has 2 guppies, snail, small pleco
#3 5gl tank empty for for want to make fry tank
and i have a filter that's not running aquaclear 30
ok so what i want to do is:
take filter from #1 (sting ray) and put it in #3 fry tank
take filter from #2. and put it in #1.
used aquaclear 30 on my #2 since it's the largest tank and largest filter

ok so i need to know can i just run my 2 aquaclear in my #2 10gl until ready and then take aquaclear 20 and put in #1 and keep aquaclear 30 for my #2, will this work
and for #3 once my other switched are done can i just put the cycled sting ray into my fry tank with no fish until she has her babies
i hope this makes sense
Would greatly apreciate any help, i really don't want to have to recycle tanks if i don't have to
Thanks

 confusing.....lol

what you would be best doing is probably just run your 10 gallon with the aqualclear 30 on it as well as its current filter until it has been colonised with bacteria, then take the filter you dont want on that tank off, and stick it in your #3 tank.

probably take a week or two to work, and it should be fine. I did a similar thing with my filters when I had two tanks.
