Recently switched from gravel to sand, wish I had done it sooner. Trying to think through what would be the best and final add to our tank stocking: 2-3 peacock gudgeon, small school of cories, or small school of kuhli loaches. I understand by the book some of my parameters might not be what these fish have in the wild but everything I've read seems that with deliberate acclimatization, they will be fine with our pH and water hardness.

20g, fully cycled, fake plants
76-77 degrees
0 ammonia, 0, nitrites, 10ish nitrates (we have some in the tap so not an exact)
8pH
180GH
Current stock: 3 male platies, 1 male swordtail, 5 skirt tetras, 1 mystery snail, 1 nerite snail, 3 amano shrimp

Corys are great, you wont regret getting them.
But if you want more function kuhli loaches are better they are much better at cleaning.

I would go with either the corys or kuhli loaches. Both are great choices, and you won’t regret getting either. I personally prefer kuhli loaches, just because they’re more active but corys are still a great choice.
