Using this site you can surf the internet anonomously keeping details about you private. For instance your IP address which is recorded by every website you go on, reveals probably a lot more than you thought.

What does your IP address reveal about you?
Your IP address reveals your point of entry to the Internet and can be used to trace your communications back to your ISP, your employer's network, your school, a public terminal. Though your IP address may not identify you personally, an IP is a unique identifier which represents your computer's digital ID while you are online.

It is possible to disguise your IP address on the Web by using an anonymous proxy server. A proxy acts as an intermediary, routing communications between your computer and the Internet. A proxy specializing in anonymous surfing, however, uses its own IP address in place of yours in every outgoing request.

Unblocking your favorite websites at school/work http://proxiefun.com/
With a proxy you can also bypass the filter at school or work, so you can browse freely any website you wish. With this proxy you can also watch YouTube videos which you can't do on other proxies.

Other URLs - Easier to remmeber or if the original one gets blocked :)
Proxiefun.com
Proxiefun.info
UnlockTheWorld.info
YouTubeProxie.info

So remmeber to bookmark them or write them down! :)

Note if you are using one of these at work to access sites that are normally blocked you are probably breaking the computer use/security agreement and could end up with a disiplinary or even be sacked for using these.

The original site will blocked for a reason and IT/Security won't look to kindly on you trying to get round the block.

And if the IT dept are doing their job properly then the proxy sites will be blocked also.

I will definitely try those at my school, when we get back. I was trying to get info on the death sentence through google at schol for a class discussion. When I tried to search it, I was blocked- the reason obscene/ tasteless. I mean really :grr: :grr:. I don't care if I lose my internet/ computer privileges at school, since half the sites google gives you on unblocked searchs are blocked anyway :grr: :grr: .

i find "Hide IP" to do the job just fine. not too expensive, but they do a free trial. or there is always a P2P network!!!

Unless you have a static IP then your IP address at worst tells people what service provider you use and where their gateway server that your connected to is. Most people dont have a static IP unless they are a business or specifically ask for one.

On a side note as the technical manager of a business if I found anyone using remote proxy servers to bypass internet restrictions I have put in place then they would find themselves with plenty of time to browse the net while they are at home looking for a new job.

One other thing to remeber is that when using a proxy server you are basically putting someone else computer between you and what you want to access. This means that this computer can see everything you are looking at and even send you false pages (ie you go to www.mybank.com and the proxy server send you a copy of the page which just logs your username and password when you log in).

There are legitimate reasons for using a proxy server and for not wanting your IP address to be viewable but if you just want to view blocked sites from work or school it just isnt worth the risk.

There are hundreds of these sites out there so its not possible to keep them all blocked. Personally I dont bother wastign time trying to block them. If I find people using them then they get fired, much easier.

GAHH!

I was able to get on this page from school, but it wouldn't let me use that site. I wanted to go on YouTube badly. lol.

You could go to proxy.org, there are a long list of proxys that will block much of your info. Forums and sites use it a lot to boost their ratings on rating sites, link Aquarank for example.

I love the internet.

I tried at my school and all of them were blocked. I didn't try proxy.org, but I'm betting it is blocked too.
Proxy.org is cool in that it provides well over a thousand free proxy sites, you just eneter the url you wish to go to and click "random proxy" it will then use any of their many proxy programs to take you to that site. So if one doesnt work, go back and try another random one.

proxy.org eh?

I shall try this. Stupid school blocking everything good. I'm lucky if I even find a game that works, because they're dumb and take all the games off the computer! That's right, no hearts, solitare, pinball, none of it.

I tryed Proxy.org and no luck either, it was blocked because it was a " Web-based Proxies/Anonymizers". Which isn't a terrible reason to block it. When I type death sentence into google the seach is blocked because it is "Obscene/Tasteless". I don't know how that is obscene and it is a sad day when my school can tell me what is tatseless.

yes it is, using a programme like websense will block the vast majority of them....

I never got the websites to work at my school. It blocked me because of the proxy.
