I cleaned Leon's tank two days ago [destorying his beautiful bubble nest] and since then, he has no interest in food, in fact, he just sits back where his bubble nest used to be and sulks. what's up? why's he doing that? and should i be worried that he's not eating?

Whenever a piggy Betta doesn't eat it is cause to be concerned. Betta can get depressed and grieve themselves to death. Try some things to interest him. Put him near other fish, put something interesting in his tank, change his location, get some live worms, put a mirror up, steal him another boy's bubble nest, try some different things until his interest is peaked. I had a boy that got depressed when I moved the sorority tank and, he stopped eating. When I moved him to the new location where he could flirt again, he was his old self.

Yep, Sue is right. Mine hate it if I move tanks so they cant see things. I had a tank in front room and the boy sulked, when I squashed him back in the kitchen and he could see us moving around he perked up. :hyper:
ps really sad I know but I scoop the betta out of the dirty tankwater and catch some bubble nest. Then I put this back in with him in the clean water.

Good suggestion! For some reason I never thought of it. It is my new added practice. :good:

well, he's the only betta i have.... i wonder if i could steal some bubbles from the 75 gallon though.... it's not a nest, but.... think it would work?

:shifty: haha who knows? just work with him, pray for inspiration. Try some things to get his interest. Find something that interests him.

well, he got bad last night, we were positive it was his last night with us... so i caught him and put him in a breeder in the barb tank.... he's perked up considerably. still not eating, but looking a lot more betta like. :) maybe he just needed a severe change of scenery?

hopefully he'll get back to normal so i can put him back in his tank.
