Had these guys in at work, but knowing they eat plants, they can't go in any of my tanks!

I have had mine for about 3 weeks now (4 adults) and recently last week one baby

There are loads of different species apparently, having searched the internet I think mine are gold spotted ones, look identical anyway! (see photos I found),

These are great snails and have lovely shells to. I keep mine in a planted tank (mainly Java fern) on a sand substrate and they seem fine, seen to eat algae, fish pellets, peas etc and so far not interested in the plants. Maybe not all these snail species eat plants??
