So I was stupidly debating on keeping my 3 red belly piranhas with 1 albino and 1 tiger oscar in a 125 gallon tank with 2 fluval fx5 filters. Silly thought.... Instead iv taken the piranhas back to my lfs but what tank mates would go well with my oscars?

Have you got the oscars already?

Blue acara's, firemouth's, silver dollars and severums all do well with oscars. :good:

A betta :)

Kidding. Any of the fish listed above, provided they are large enough not to fit in the oscar's mouth.

Severums are your best bet.
Convicts can sometimes be to aggressive for the oscar but it shouldn't be a problem, depending on size and temperament.
How big are the oscars?

Depending on the size of your oscars, just remember to choose species that are large enough to thrive well with the oscars from the beginning plus they will compete for the food and 'hold their own shall we say' :good:

Remember cichlids choose their tankmates, not us.

I'm biased but I'd say severum definitely. Depending on the size and aggression of your oscars I'd go for the golden. Under-rated IMO but is very striking. If your oscars are aggressive then greens would be your best bet. A lot more aggressive than golden. If they're small I'd go for a few rotkeil.

Wow lot of replys.... Thanks. Yep iv got the oscars, 1 tiger, 1 albino. They r very small. I'd say 2 inch... Hard to say whether they are aggressive or not at the mo with them being so small and having not put them with anything else before. They are fine with each other but that's about all I know :)

Yes a Jack could possibly work but then again it might not.
Your best bet would be a severum, great tank mates for oscars!
What about another type of species?
Like an oddball?
