Suitable Cheap Fry Tank?

So im sure my red zebra is holding fry and she will spit any time this week if ive counted the weeks properly,
I was looking for a suitable small and cheap tank to put her in to spit the fry, then put her back in the main tank.
 
Would this be suitable?

At 40 Litres it would just be a grow out tank before i decide what to do with them, i dont want to leave them in my main tank incase they become fish food!
 
I of course would be adding media from my other externals into the new filter, i also have a spare fluval q3 (i think its that name) that i will add for extra filtration.

The age old temporary tank question.
 
There are 3 routes you can take.
 
1) Use this as an excuse to get another tank set up. Great for either convincing the other half/parents, or just for convincing yourself, that another tank is really the best answer. I'd advise, as with everything, the bigger the better. You'll hopefully end up with a lot of fish to house until they can be moved on, and consider your tank with 50 1 inch fish in it if all goes well......
 
2) Set up a non-display tank. Good for quarantine, good for hospital sets, good for fry. The problem is that it is essentially a full set up, and you need somewhere out of the way, but not too out of the way, to put it. Great tanks if you have some space in the utility room that would otherwise be used for something mundane like washing though.
 
3) Go temporary. Out of the box comes a filter, a heater and a few other bits and pieces. Back into the box goes some water and hey presto, a spare tank. It also packs away into itself when it's not in use, but you have to be careful that people don't then try to use it for storing fish unfriendly stuff. Lots of plastic containers can be press ganged into service this way.

Might go with method 3, ive got some large strong plastic tubs that i use only for fish stuff, i might fill one up, strip the fry from her, and use the fry trap i have and just keep them in the main tank for now

For a fry tank I would go with an air driven sponge filter its safer and less chance of fry getting sucked into it. 40l should be ok for a fry tank, roughly how many fry would you be expecting?

p.s by large i mean roughly 30 litres

No idea tbh, im excited though, this is my first breed!
Im sure shes been holding for roughly 3 weeks so surely she cant hold for much longer!
