LOL! Depends on the camera. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T7 and it does really well as to true representation of colors. I understand what you mean though. When I take a still photo I'll take the same shot with several different settings. Some will be true and some won't. Haven't in a while but I like to go out in the nature reserve that is right next to my apartment. I may take 200+ shots and actually only keep 10-20.It’s great that you like it but I’m not a fan either. It dulls the colours too much for me. I remember way back in prehistory when the Grolux fluorescent tube was discovered. There wasn’t much blue in it at all. To look at it was a dull pinky white tube, but it was like discovering fish all over again. Nothing lights up a fish like a Grolux. Except sunlight, of course.
Edit... cameras never give the true look, so....
All of the research I have done says using a blue light at night , not all night , is perfectly fine and in fact is good for some fish, and helps to transition them from day to night . I haven’t ready anywhere about any ill effects of blue light on any particular fish and all colors of lights have different effects . It isn’t going to hurt them .this is interesting- in my tank-to-be (wife has put the kibosh on my attempt to purchase now), I want to get chocolate spotted Raphael catfish. They're nocturnal, but I've been thinking I can use blue light or something to watch them with- maybe have to do something different...

What were you able to find on it being bad for fish? I’m not using just a blue light , it is a full spectrum light , the sun is full spectrum as well and throughout the day will produce rgb color waves , now a blue light just all night is not good , but not because the color itself harms their eyes ,it can alter their circadian clock and it may have different effects on fish behavior , stressing them out , making them more active, as in red light , but a full spectrum colored led light is not going to harm their eyes . But maybe you know something that I don’t that’s why I was asking what was it you were able to find on it ?I like it but you may want to stay away from the blue as, from research I've done, it seems it is not good for the eyes of your fish. My lights include white, blue and red and I used to use all three. After my research I now only use the white which is full spectrum. Actually my live plants have taken off a lot since I cut out the red and blue.
Blue lights is one of the things I have against glofish other than the genetic manipulation. Too many people want to use blue lighting with glows as they tend to look better but it is not, at all, good for the fish.
