Stunning New Addition To The Tank!

Yeah they're still quite small and not showing massively impressive colours at the moment. I have a group of 4 of them, think they're just starting to show mating signs though which im hoping will improve their colour.

Had them since they were tiny though so quite attached to them

Gosh, I love these notifications! They just keep bringing me back to the beaut! :hyper:

I've still got four from the original 5 from Star4 and a little one that survived and is holding his/her own. Stunning colours and fiesty and bolshy behaviour. Love em, I've moved the spawning pair to a tank of their own, so I'm hoping for some more little ones soon. You do really have a beauty there. :good:

beautiful fish don;t often see them round here as well

I still prefer a firemouth though ha but you don;t often see decent ones

Mine seems very shy and timid at the moment, but guess he's still adjusting to the tank so I'm sure he'll come into his own soon.

Its quite funny that as soon as I added him, all my other fish have brightened up to try and compete... my rainbows have gone from a dull brown (literally all the time) to bright orange!!

wow nice photos.
can you give me some tips :p

do you use an SLR camera?
what settings do you use?
did you have to buy a good macro lens?

sorry about so many questions but i want to be able to take photos like that of my firemouths :D
I've got a point and shoot cam (havn't managed to get many decent pics) but my gf is getting a dSLR so i'm hoping i can use it to get better photos

Yeah I have a Nikon D90 that I use, but don't really do anything special with it.

Turn the lights off in the room apart from the tank lights, turn the flash off, place the camera on a sturdy surface (I just rest mine on my knee when I'm still) and wait for a decent picture to come along.

They usually come out pretty well.

For every good shot, there are 10 or more bad shots!
