well this year we have gotten a new puppy dog, she is a Chocolate Lab.i have spent most of my free time training her, she is incredibly smart and stubborn not always a great combination, but here is Stormy in one of her calm points.

I am so jealous, I need a puppy. Nominated for PoTM!

Cheese is a great way to teach labs! Everything they do when it comes to training is repetition, with rewards of cheese! Apart from barking, my Lab learned every command by both voice, and hand signals

All by the time she was 8 months old!

Cheese is good for them, less fattening than alot of the treats you can get dogs, and they seem to do anything for it!!

The only other thing ive seen my Lab do anything for was Plauses (not sure on spelling) which are some sort of shelled seafood...Not sure about much info as I dont eat any sort of seafood

i have learned mine is very food motivated, her favorite is popcorn. i use grated cheese to get her to eat her dinner.

She is so sweet looking! its hard to imagine mine was that size when we got her at the start of last year, although for some reason she is still relatively small, but could be because she was bread as a gun dog more than a working dog

There is only 1 thing I have to say I hate the most about Lab's, thats their chewing!!! My one chewed everything, and cost us a fortune to replace my other half's underwear, as she had a thing for it, and the kids toys got ruined as the moment she seen something, she waited till our backs were turned and she took it and chewed it to bits, even though she has loads of chew toys of her own

Labs seem to have this way of looking at you that makes you feel sorry for them if you have told them off too, that bottom pic is sort of what im on about, its that "Love me, you cant hate me" look lol!

cheese isnt good for dogs

it is extremely fattening and dogs get the taste for human food which inturn makes them fussy eaters.

labradors are easy to train with treats, but rather than using "special" treats, get a couple of biscuits out of her dinner bowl and use that, they just assume its a treat cause your handing it her and they love it. My labrador was trained very well that way, and so was my sisters staffy

also dogs cant digest dairy

however small amounts will not harm
