Store bought sea shells in marine tank?

Actually, after I put them in the tank, I took them out in the morning and they did stink...i kept them in a bucket and they definitely have a foul smell.

But certainly can not see anything inside

put the shells next to an ant nest and they will clean out anything in them.

Yea as everyone else said boil the shells. If these smells as you said then the ex residents are still inside what I used to do is to dry these in the sun for a long time 2 months or so until there is no more smell on these and then definitely boil these again to kill any microbes.
