ok so my tank is cycling and ive been researching what to get, thought id put up a list of suggestions and see if any1 can see any problems??

3 x Platys ( 1 male, 2 Female)
4 x Male Threadfin Rainbowfish (Iriatherina werneri)
1 x Gourami (was thinking a dwarf but after reading all the problems with the diseases i'm now thinking maybe a sunset gourami?)
3x Panda Corydoras
3x Loaches (maybe zebra or pakistani??)
1 x Queen Arabesque plec

overstocked?? compatible??

:good:

What size tank is it Amy?
Stocking seems ok but I'd leave getting the Queen Arabesque for a few months. They prefer mature tanks and are incredibly sensitive so you are best waiting a while.

Its 75cmL X 30cmW X 47cmD

with eheim aquaball internal filter 2210, 150 watt heater, fake plants, rock & bogwood, fine black gravel substrate

how long would you recommend leaving it until i get a plec?

I think your stocking should be fine then.
We didn't add Plecos to our tank until it had been set up for about 3 months but check with other members as they may have done things different. :good:

ok thanks, would you say that is pretty much stocked to capacity??

i was also considering some small fish such as endlers livebearer or a group of galaxy rasbora (and maybe try to breed them seeing as they are getting rare) and i also really like spotted hoplo armoured catfish - http://www.wetpetz.com/hoplo.htm

It sounds as though your tank is roughly 27 gallons so I don't think you're overstovked. Most people use the 1" per gallon rule (adult size) so that should give you more idea.
I'm afraid I can't help on the catfish as I've never kept one of those. Reading the link you posted though, it doesn't sound as though it would work in your tank. Apparently, they will end up eating smaller fish and looking at the suitable tankmates that they have listed, again, I don't think they would be compatable.

I have two armoured catfish in my tank and they are very placid, they are in with barbs and cories and khuli loaches dont bother them at all, awsome fish to keep as well they are always busy around the tank cleaning up and digging in the sand.

i would n't see any probs keeping them.

I'd wait for the pandas too - they're not the most hardy cory (erm by a long shot) and prefer a mature tank (as in a few months mature, at least).
