Stocking Suggestions For 20G

Thank you Blondie! Seriously can't wait to see them against the black background.
Cories are tempting but I believe peacock gudgeons like to be at the bottom of the tank, so think it'd be best left to them. I wonder if they'd eat shrimp?

Yeah, true, I think they do.

I don't they they do eat shrimp, I may be wrong though.

Anyone know if Peacock Gudgeons would eat shrimp? They are quite small so I'd think not, depending on the size of shrimp, although maybe shrimplets would be in danger.

Currently thinking on just doing a pair of peacock gudgeons and the rest being the Spotted Blue-Eyes, although have also been suggested a few other types that could go with them.
Out of the ones that were suggested to me I absolutely loved the Delicate Blue-Eyes, but not sure if they are actually delicate or not.

Also thinking of maybe not doing the peacock gudgeons and instead doing Gardneri Killifish, as my fiance has taken a liking to them. He wants them for his 5g tank which I'm thinking is not quite big enough.

This tank is almost done cycling, yay C:

Would very much appreciate thoughts and possibly stocking numbers for the blue-eyes and whatnot. Thank you :)

I was told that the Peacock Gudgeons can and will eat shrimp, so won't get any shrimp for that tank then. I do have a lovely mystery snail waiting to be added to it though!

I have yet to hear back from my LFS via e-mail if they can get the delicate blue-eyes, will ask in person probably tomorrow or friday.

Looking at something like this for the tank though:
2 Peacock Gudgeons (1M:1F)
8 Spotted Blue-Eyes (Pseudomugil Gertrudae)
8 Delicate Blue-eyes (Pseudomugil Tenellus)

Is this overstocking it, or could I stand to add more? I feel greedy asking if I can squish more in there but they are just so stinking beautiful!

Thanks again to everyone who has been responding!

*Edit* Oh and the tank is cycled, me thinks! It hits 0,0 within 24 hours.
Eagles I know you told me I should try for 12 to be cautious but I think if I add them slowly, it'll be okay? :)

Hmm, bit worried now. Was trying to find a hood for it again and came across this: http://www.acrylicaquariumsdirect.com/20gallonacrylicflatbackhexagonaquarium30x12x16.aspx
Maybe it is indeed a 15g? I really hope not

Again, if anyone can figure out how to solve our hood problem, that'd be awesome.

Dad has managed to cover the front part moreso than it was before by cutting a regular hood.

Still wondering if the stocking I suggested will be alright, although if they can't get the delicate blue-eyes I'd like to put mosquito rasboras in their place.
Also obviously messed with it a little, since there is 9 spotted blue-eyes rather than 8 >.<

We picked up 4 more gertrudes today to go with the other 5, hopefully I've got something like 3M:6F but no idea really. Also some plants that I can't remember the names of

Will hopefully be getting some wood for this, I found a piece that I really loved but dad didn't like the shipping price. Can't find anything nice in any of the LFS D: Wondering if perhaps we should just continue with our fake asian decor stuff, as I rather like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Underwater-Treasures-Pagoda-Temple-/281079784277?pt=Decorations&hash=item4171a92355

Sorry for the bad quality pics & videos. They're hard to get pics of as they're so fast and for some reason our camera doesn't want to do nice quality videos.

They are! I love them. Something I've noticed, and seems like it might be slightly noticeable from the pics, is they're of different colorations? Some are yellow and some blue.
So some I think should look like this, as shown earlier:

And others more like this?:

Not sure though..I guess time will tell :)
Again, not my pics, if it's not allowed to post them here definitely take them down.

They're quite skittish in this tank unfortunately. I can look at them from afar and they'll be all over the tank, but once I get into the hallway where the tank is they're all at the top crowded together.

really lovely!

I keep threadfin rainbow fish and I love these guys!

Those ones you've got are stunning.

May just get another tank and fill that with these..................

A lot of fish can be skittish in a tank when they first arrive and others will remain skittish until there are more fish in there to make them feel more secure.  Adding some plants to the upper areas, and maybe even some floating plants would help them settle in a bit more.

I wouldn't fret.  They look wonderful.

My fish have been skittish, but there are ways to enjoy them, even when they are skittish.  I used to sit in front of my tank in the complete darkness with just the tank light on... Sit very still and the fish will not notice you and you can really enjoy them. :D

Will be getting more plants for the tank when we can, we usually get them at Pet Land but their plant tank was barren yesterday! Hopefully they get some more in soon.
I'm not sure what to do on floating plants with the flow at the top..amazon frogbit would be too big for this tank wouldn't it?

What are your thoughts on this possibly being a 15g? I know you calculated it but I'm worried now after seeing that link :(

You're right I will grab a chair and sit in front of the tank for a bit :D Thank you.

I got 3 more females today to up the female numbers a bit as the boys do pressure the girls quite a bit sometimes.

So gonna take out 7 boys soon, and get more females as boys getting too confident!

If you are after some thread fin males, just let me know, free to a good home.

Otherwise will post in classified in a week or two.

Oh I hope everything settles down then! :)
I won't have anywhere to put them unfortunately, but thank you. I hope they find some very lovely homes!

Thats cool, i would rather they go to a good home rather than return to LFS so will post in classified section soon.

Not looking forward to the day when i have to take these boys out, really do get attached to them!

Soppy old fool i am!

I recalculated... its a 20.  Your tank is wider and deeper than theirs.  Don't worry about it...
