Stocking Question

Hello i have a fluval roma 125 tank size L x W x H : 80 X 35 X 50 cm with a Fluval U3 filter and a small sponge filter, i currently have 1 chilled Armageddon Betta 6 false julii Cories and 3 amano shrimp all water parameters fine. i'm wondering wud i be able to get some cardinal tetras or if not is there any others that i cud add.

I think bettas can live with most tetras, but it's not particularly advisable. Might be best to up the number of amano shrimp to six though, as it can reduce territorial behaviour. Good luck, would love to see your setup.

Also, boosting this in the hopes that someone more knowledgeable can help out.

Yes was looking at adding more Amano shrimp as well, JD (my Betta) is very relaxed and gets along very well with the cories and shrimp I have atm. I’ve added a pic of my tank it’s my first ever tank so go easy ?

Ooh looks really nice! Especially for a first tank! Mine was definitely not as well presented as yours when I started out!

Obviously the blue sponge isn’t the best looking thing but it’s a necessity atm coz it keeps JD from getting stuck to the U3 the Amano’s spend most of there time over there feeding in it as well

You could add a school tetras or rasboras. You have a lot of options, such as neon, cardinals, rummy nose etc. You could also add some hatchet fish, they are less common but should work fine with the bettas. They are very unusual and cool locking. There are a lot of videos on youtube about betta tank mates, you might be interested in some. Sanils are a good option as well.

Thanks for the reply yes I was looking at getting 10-12 Cardinal Tetras I’ve watched the Betta tankmates vids from aquarium co-op and others, it was more that I wasn’t sure what I cud get with my tank size than anything

With your tank size you should have room for a school of cardinal tetras. You could get a larger school of cories too if you wanted!

Corys can live in a minimum of 3 per species, but some say that they should go together as a school of 8. So you could get a couple more false julii if you wanted to.

You could probably have 12 cardinal tetras, 6 more false julii cories, and more amano shrimp if you wanted
