Stocking My Tank (With Pics)

My cupids were $8 a piece. They were all about 1 and 1/4 inch when I got them the week after Christmas. So about six months later 2 of them are about 3.5 inches, one is about 2.5 inches and the other two are 1.5 inches. The two little ones had sunken bellies. I treated for internal parasites and due to a totally different fish, they were treated for external parasites as well. All of them eat like crazy and have normal poops, are bold fish. I'm guessing that in the wild the little guys might have just died off, just a natural percentage of wild fish will be weak ones? I don't know. The little ones do not have the coloring of the other three but they have hearts of lions and will get right in there to get their share of the food.

Sorry op, sort of hyjacking here.... just excited about the cupidos! I'll shut up now.

Bleeding heart tetras are a great choice IMO, but I think 8 in a 240 litre is probably too many. They get BIG for tetras. 3" is not an unreasonable expectation, and really deep bodied too. I have 5 in a 500 litre and I would not want any more in there, as I think they would simply make the tank look rather small.
In a 240 litre, I'd go for a shoal of 4 or 5, no more, unless they were the focus of the tank.

what other options would i have then if not bleeding hearts something that i could have a large shoal of? i wish i could have rummy nose tetras as they are my fave :(
