Yeah they are a little agressive for me. Im liking the barbs though. Didnt realize there were so many different ones. Wanting to stay in the seven inch range. Would much rather have a bigger shoal than more giant fish. My focal point on the tank is my
current fish. And would like to have something with a little color like the torpedo barbs would be perfect. The only place i can find them is an hour and a half away. Thats a long drive with fish. Dont know how much they are there but its $39.99 us ea online. Free shipping over two hundred dollars. So yeah not cheap! We live in an area where theres only a petsmart. No local lfs that can order them

anyone have any other ideas?? still waiting to set the tank up so im just wondering what else i could put in it with them. thanks:)

trust me no matter how big a tank is it will always end up being over stocked

what ever size tank you have it will soon fill up

i personal love the packed look tank

i have 1000 gal and its filling up just the way i like it

even if i had 50,000 gal i would pack it

in some cases packing it is the only way to make a mixed com tank work as it spreads aggression

pack them in thats my moto

I like your moto. I also love your setup. Its AWESOME!! :hyper:
As long as you have adequate filtration for the stocking you have and do the req maintenance like water changes and all. :)

found the torpedo barbs at a fish shop about an hour and twenty mins from here. fifteen a piece. Future plans. I love my 125gal so far. just moved everyone in last night. they are happy :fun:

wrapped the back and sides of my fish tank in insulation today so that way I can hold some heat in there for the winter time. unfortunately my precious tank is in the basement which heat has been turned off too. Maybe I will have to fire up the pellet stove when it gets colder! Sadly lost my bn pleco Susie today for unknown reasons. Thinking maybe due to temp increase and salt to treat ich from newcommers. darn me for not quarantine them before I put them in. The rest seem to be doing good though.

OK so 6 of my 7 torpedo barbs have died due to swim bladder disease. Anyone have any idea on what could have caused that?

I have now learned that the torpedo barbs like a cooler water than what the clowns do. so 78 is wayy too warm for them. thats probably what helped kill them off. I'm left with one at the moment. also the tinfoil barbs require a lot different water temp than the clowns do also. Wish I would have noticed that before I killed them all off. :(
Any other ideas as an alternative? I keep my tank at 78F, my ph is a little high, my api kit says between 8.0 and 8.2.. I know cichlids would be out of the question with the clowns and bgk.. Maybe I should rehome the clowns and bgk? my ph is a bit high for them.. What are your thoughts? i'm gonna think this one through given the circumstances... Thanks guys!
