are the thermometers you place inside the tank more accurate then the sticker ones? my sticker therm says 76 degrees but the water feels much cooler in the tank.

Jason

yeah my sticker one says 80 always but it feels much cooler

I always suggest an intank thermo instead of a stick on, for many reasons.
For example, stick ons only mesure the temp of the glass(or w/e the tank is made of) and the temp around the tank can mess it up.
IMO it also looks better.
just simple stuf that can make a world of difference

I have several different types of themometer in different tanks
the stick on ones are the least accurate.

Hmm that gives an idea....

in tank thermometer definatly. on one freebie tank i got it had a stick-on thermometer on the outside which read the same temperature regardless of how warm or cold it really was. i think they do not last as long, and in tank therms. are not much more expensive.

the_wolf has a recent post (tyoday i think) comparing 7 or 8 different thermometers and they all give different readings.

They all have there pros and cons... like someone keeping a midas in a tank will want the least possible stuff inside for the fish to break, so a stick on thermometer is safe outside the tank.
