Hi,

I've been poking around the internet looking for a place that sells statues for the aquarium and i'm having little luck. I found this pic today and fell in love with the motif.

or do you think that's just a back image?
can you point me in a direction to a company that has non corny statues?
thanks!

My guess is it a statue and not a back image. I'd also say it may not by one designed for aquariums just used as such. Doing so wouldn't be a problem as long as a-the manufacturing material was aquarium safe b-the paint (if used) is aquarium safe.

Yeah, I tried to do a search but ended up with a bunch of crap. I'd look at dollar type stores, garden centers, new age stores, and the all mighty flea markets.

And a very big  at that tank...

I would not put anything in a tank that was not for aquatic use specifically. You just do not know exactly what it's made of and/or what bonding materials / polish etc. was used on it. That is a beautiful statue in that fist pic, and it does not look like back ground. I'd love to know too where one like that could be obtained !
However, the only other I could find in line with "statues" was this one on eBay

You could also talk to whoever does the decor ordering at your LFS (or at least somewhere that stock a good range of decor) and see what they can get.

Maybe go on an expedition to several garden centres? Or better still, have a go at making one youself out of clay. You'll need a kiln though.

I don't know where to get good aquarium statues either... I got lucky and found some really nice looking columns once, but have never found anything that suits me since. At first I only bought one of the columns, and it took a whole 5 months for my LFS to ever get any more of them in

I wonder how well old bamboo would hold up in the aquarium. That could be used for the forest effect.
