i would like to use an existing 10 gallon and start a sorority tank with the 5 female bettas that i already have. the tank is already planted, but could probably use more plants. none of my girls are related so is there any specific way that i should/shouldnt go about doing this. what should i expect if i do put them together. your opinions and ideas for creating a sorority tank would be much opinions would be very helpful thanks.

If your tank is planted, make sure there are enough areas for them to have some cover. You could add some more plants and maybe some caves or some other "hidey" spots for them. Add the girls at the same time and watch closely for any squabbling. Ususally they'll get their pecking order established w/out a lot of fighting, just keep an eye out to make sure no one is getting the brunt of it. Be prepared to remove either the offender or the victim if the bullying gets serious.
A sorority tank is one of the lovliest things to look at, I loved mine when I had it. Good luck with yours!

Try to get 5 or more from the same batch so that they are used to each other already. As sugested make sure to keep an eye on them just incase.

yeah, add them at the same time and watch for fights. Simple. Im sure they will love the tank and their new room mates! A little chaseing is normal but break em up if it seems dangerous.

ok so these are crapy pics but o well im still learning how to get good pics with the camera, but any way here are 3 of them.

and this is the other one that had to be removed from the tank.
is there any chnce that either of the two that had to be removed or both of them are pk males?? they both were highly agressive to eachother and everyone else who crossed thier path. im sure they are both females, but im just wondering.

The 2 beat up ones look male, and possibly one or two of the other a well, hard to tell though.

Have a look for egg spots males rarely have them and if they do they arent so obvious

which 2 beat up ones?? i know for sure the first one in the second set of pictures(sweet little pinky) is definetly a female because i am currently raising a spawn from her and my red butterfly vt male. its the 2 who arent as beat up that i am the most curiouse about.
