I want to see some hand built stands from your aquariums, to get an idea for my 60 gallon in 6 months.

Well, I CAN'T post a picture of any stands for you,
but I CAN tell you that you may find what you're looking for in the DIY forum!! :*) ;)

We just took the wraught iron frame that came with, and built an insert type thing that fits it exactly. Ill post a pic later this evening

This is a picture of my stand before I made structural reinforcing and varnishing (sealant). Hope it helps you. It's a pine (oak) cabinet stand, cost around 200 CAD.

Very nice. Did any of you make your own? Easy/hard?

I build that with the help of my dad... it was very easy and took maybe an hour and a half to build, and a day to do all the staining so that it matched all the other furniture in the room

Here's a pic of the stand & hood I built last February for my 65 gallon. Used the garf plans to build the frame, & skinned it with finished one side plywood, had no plans for the hood, so just had to wing it.

Check out http://www.garf.org/tank/buildstand.asp for a cool program for building the frame.
