After falling in love with my original, Spot (yep a very originial name), I recently purchased two more of these fish. Which was after a long search and actually having to drive home with them in the car for about 4 hours. They survived just fine and are getting fat 'n' sassy right now.

First, Spot. (In a 55g with a flying fox and two catfish.)

For about a week, when I was on the phone I'd sit in the chair beside Spot's tank and talk. Well, every time I'd be sitting there, Spot would full out yawn repeatedly. So, brilliant me thought I would try and get some pictures of it... Well, conviently Spot decided to NOT yawn! But I did get this one, semi-blurry one.

Next, the new little SCPs. They are currently in a 20g by themselves so they can grow up a bit before putting them in with Spot. I don't need Spot thinking they're bit-sized munchies.

This is the bigger of the two.

And here's the smaller one. This one I'll be able to tell apart from the rest because of it's tail. :)

(I also really like how clear this picture turned out!)

Very nice, I love these fish, used to have one in my 40gal. on the lookout for one for my 62gal now. Difficult to get hold of round here. That bottom pic is really good too. :good:

They're pretty difficult around here as well. First one I got by fluke the chain petstore had them in. Of course, after I fell in love with Spot, I couldn't find any more! So, that's why almost two years later I have such a size difference in them. Someone my boyfriend knows owns a pet shop in a store 3+ hours away from us, and they got them in this summer. Didn't make it down until October, and they still had some! And the best part? It was two for one day!!! It was the best day in a long time, for me! ;)

Nelly, I don't think it's tail is docked so much as it ended up getting a serious rip in it sometime. It was like that when I brought it home - though didn't notice until we were home. Definitely doesn't slow it down, as that's the really spunky one of the bunch!

I had one of these years ago and funny enough saw them in my LFS on saturday which have been there for monts apparently. I might get them cos they are cool fish., the fish in my LFS are about 5 inches long and very cool looking

Nice fish, I kept them a while back and they loved daddy long legs. A lfs of mine has one that must be about 10", its a beast.

Thanks all. I'm totally in love with these fish, and so happy I found some more. The largest actually loves crickets. Spot is almost jumping out of the water to get them before you can drop them in. My father jokingly calls Spot 'Jaws' when he does this. I just introduced the smaller ones to crickets today, and they're a little unsure of this floating food at the top of their tank. ;)

I have a male and female pair of these and they are cool fish, mine keep doing spawning dances, but i never get eggs :(
