Hi, thought i would post a picture of one of my favourite fish Spike, i think he is a commom pleco.

He is a poser, as he loves you to get right close and look and him and is never shy.

I rarely see him with his dorsal fin flat, is this normal-i like to think it is a sign that he is happy and contented-but am not sure if that is correct.

Anyway i really hope you all like him to.

thanks for looking.

Gorgeous fish - I would say he is a red sailfin pleco. And it's fine that he always leaves the dorsal up, many catfish do.

I think you'll find he's also a L114 (Red-tailed Sternella) like ours. We've only had Ginger for a few months so he's still got the mainly orange finnage.

The LDA7 is a slightly different variant in so much as it has bigger spots when mature than L114. Otherwise, same fish.
