actually I don't see any problem with it being written as "Arts & Crafts, and Photography".

I was just typing out a reply to this, saying that you are wrong, and that a comma shouldn't be used with the word 'and' when i realised that i had written

"It is incorrect in English language to use a comma in conjunction with the word 'and', and i believe there are no exceptions."



Of course, i absolutely retract that now.

You don't tend to edit a quote.

But you do put (sic) in the quote to signify that you are aware there is an error in the original source and to show that it is not a typographical error.
