Spawn Diary - Rascal And April - 4/18/06

This is going to be an experimental spawn, hopefully the first step on my road to green and red marbled halfsuns, how kool would those look. I'm using my favorite CT male, Rascal. I have no idea what color he would be considered but hes sure pretty!!. I selected my pastel emerald HM girlie with a marble Geno to breed him to. Right now she it a container in the spawning tank and they're flaring and carrying on. no bubblenesting attempts yet. Right now its just a waiting game. Here are some pictures of the prous parents.

Yay! Another one of my girls is gonna be a Mommy! I hope everything works out well, I'm sure she is full of eggs... she looks it!! When are you gonna spawn the boy I sent you?

The boy is very cute, I'm pretty sure that'd be considered a Red/Green BF. You should get a lot of variety in the babies! They'll be mostly combtails, but the tailspan should be improved somewhat and you should get some nice CT's in the F2. Where did you get the boy? His coloring is very pretty... his rays are OK, but if you're selective with the F2 you could improve that.

They're wrapping now!! So far he's just letting the eggs fall to the ground, and continuosly wrapping with the girl. I hope he picks them up soon

They've been at it for hours now. The girlie ate about 30 eggs at the bottom but now they're finally starting to put them in the nest. Practice makes perfect! Its the first time for both of them so they're not really doing too bad.

AHHH we have success!!! YIPPIE!! There are probably over 200 eggs in the nest. This is my fourth attempt, first success!! I was worried at because the male was just sucking the eggs up like a vacum and I thought he was eating them, but them I saw him put some in the nest. Though I did catch him snacking on a few. This is normal right? The girl helped with the eggs. He snacked on them more than she did. Here are some pics of the nest. Didn't take any pics of them spawning, I didnt want to disturb them with the flash.
