The only reason we haven't been back to the moon in the last 50 years is because we never went in the first place, and the radiation belt will kill anyone who tries to pass through it.

I will change my view as soon as any country sends man through the radiation belt, and they return to earth safely. Mind you it has only been 50 years since they did it the last time.

Return trip would be another 7 months
Add a month or so on mars..so total would be about 15 months.
