My LFS has 4 of these in, I've never kpt these before but always wanted to

I have a spare 30x16x16 tank

My water is below neutral ph anyway

I would like to keep these in a tank but are the feeding issues easy enough to overcome and if I had to feed livebearers how many a week would one fish need?

has anyone kept these successfully that can offer any advice?

thanks simon

I think its pretty much a given you have to provide live fish as food for these fish, or you might have luck with shrimp.

I havn't personally kept them but have found THIS post from another forum which suggests a large amount is needed - scroll down about half way until 'gabs' post.

No one i know has managed to keep these without feeding live fish, even then some of them couldnt get them to take live and the fish starved themselves to death

Do you mean true leaf fish or what I have which are also known as leaf fish ""Nandus Nandus or Nandus Andrewi or Nandus Nebuli"" ?

its the true leaf fish Karl.

I'm going to see how they get on in the LFS before making a decision

cheers Shroob, interesting reading,

Yeah photo's would be great. They've been one of my 'wish list fish' for ages, I know I'll never be able to keep them due to their feeding habits but they are still one of the most interesting fish out there.

they had jus come in yesterday and were not pricd up yet so I've got to wait till the owner is in on monday and I'll see what the price is

i had nandus nandus that accepted arowana sticks. i got rid of them with my perch
