If I became a billionaire I wouldn’t buy a mega yacht. I would buy a mega aquarium. Maybe the National Aquarium.😁
Outside of setting up a thousand gallon aquarium for a leopard shark I'm an idealist. If I suddenly was a billionaire I would probably be using the money to help people that need help. I'm not talking about helping the parasites. I mean people that have lost a lot that was not caused by themselves such as those that lose everything trying to pay medical bills and such.

You could start by re-building some of the 15,000 homes lost in the LA fire.

Can't argue with that but I think I would work more on ways to feed the millions of children that go to bed hungry due to there not being any money in the household to supply food.

We pay farmers to NOT plant crops while our children starve. We send mega tons of food to other countries while our children starve.

Sure I'd LOVE to solve the problem world wide of children going hungry but it starts at home. While it is getting not far from the point that the Earth will not be able to provide food for the populous right now it could yet we pay farmers to not plant crops... :dunno:

And it isn't just children as too many elderly make cat food salad sandwiches for something to eat as the cat food is cheaper than a can of tuna. True fact and, to me, it is sad enough to bring tears to my eyes. Yet we pay farmers to NOT plant crops.

Mayhaps I naive but today's economy really does make me think of the old feudal system. Way back then you had the lords and ladies living the rich life while the serfs struggled as hard as they could to just survive after 'paying'. the taxes and such to 'allow' the poor to make the rich richer. Is this really much different than today's economics?

Bummer of a direction we're taking here.

I simply could never be a billionaire. If I had some ethical way of getting that kind of money coming in, the money would go to the people who produced whatever I sold, and to healthcare, education, scientific research and environmental projects. I'd have a lot of fun with that.

I wouldn't have time to be a mod here and warn myself and others not to get too political (stay philosophical, my friends). One of these days I'm going to cut loose and say what I really think, but then I'll have to kick myself out.

"There's a crack in everything - that's how the light gets in." Leonard Cohen.

there is an unwritten law in Minnesota... even in something as solid as concrete... " in Minnesota, all concrete is cracked" I suppose getting exposed to the forces of a temperature range of -40 to 100 degrees, something has to give... besides you would all be full of poop, if it weren't for that crack ;)

I do believe we have crossed into politics, with specific national examples. The devil is in the details.

I'm not sure anybody's been brave enough to try.
I did I DID! Sadly it didn't work :( Mayhaps I should have not had baked beans the night before. Still all is not lost as I can use the left over patch to fix the hole in my wall when things sort of dramatically let loose... ;)

After the beans you may want to use it as mortar rather than drywall patch . Color will be easier to match .
