I need some more hiding spots for my 10gal sorority tank... And I'm out of ideas, so I'd like to see what some of you have rigged up so I can maybe snatch a few ideas from y'all.

Plants, rocks, fake decor... I need some help, let's see what you have! :fun:

i get loads of small bebbles of various sizes and shapes from my local river, wash them and arange them in a sort of "stone henge" arrangement. il also get a biger, longer stone and lean then them against it to create little archways. i found a peice of narrow terracota pipe (again cleaned) which looks good, and when i gte plants from pets at home, they come potted in a small terracotta pot, which i think look good and the fish love them, i usualy have one or two in the males tanks aswell.

bettas are fond of caves and places they can squeeze into....obviously without then being able to get stuck!

Woot! Any excuse to take and upload more pics! hehe There's a bit of a brown algae problem in the 10gal so.. ignore that in the photos :p lol

First up... is the actual sorority...
Bunch of plants and 2 decor cave things they can go in to. I think they prefer the plants though. 2 of them are pretty thick. Whenever chasing occurs.. I'll usually see the one being chased go into one of the plants and this stops the chasing.

Even though this decor is kinda big (for the space I have), I really like it b/c there are 4 different holes in it for them to go in and out of. Really comes in hand w/ the chasing when they can lose whoever is chasing them by going out of a different hole.

Another little decor. I haven't noticed them using this one alot, but I think that's mainly b/c it's just hard to see w/ the plants in the way.

And just a view of the sorority side of the tank...

This is the males side. Just showing what I have as his little "cave". The rock in the back is his cave. It has 2 holes in it and isn't really smooth, but smooth enough. My Raj (RIP) loved the rock and would always rest in it at night. I haven't really noticed where my new guy hides away though. Doesn't help that the plants blocks alot of what I can see :p

And this is my 3 gallons little hiding spot. It's just one of those little bridge things. He loves it though. Always swimming in and out of it and resting under it. Sidenote.. I'm glad I took this pic... didn't even notice that those leaves are dead! Geeze

Terra cotta flowerpots! They're cheap, come in all different shapes and sizes and they look pretty natural in a tank, if that's what you're going for. Just watch out for the drainage hole in the bottom- I once had a female try to swim through and get stuck. By the time I got her out, she was missing so many scales that I had to put her down. Anyway, you can break the pot in half and make sure the split goes through the hole (or break out the whole bottom!) or figure out a way to plug it up.

The terra cotta pipe sounds like a great idea if you can find that!
