How do I kill them. they have already killed my biggest mushroom. Really crappy pic.

Ok, I called the fish shop, and they said that the flat worms should not be eating the shrooms. They said to check for Gorilla Crabs. That is what they said it sounds like.

[and also what is a red lens flashlight? Is it a special kind of light?

It has only to be a red light.

Many marine animals don't see red light as we don't see infrared light. Red light penetrates only a few feet into water so many marine animals' eyes don't see it.

At least, the worms on my live rock come out with bright red light but keep hidden with other dimmed light.

Make one, find red film/red transparent sheets from a hobby shop or a office supply shop even...then cut out a circle and tape it over the end of a flashlight.

I just turned off my light for about 45 min to check for the Gorilla Crabs. I didn't see anything. Anybody have an idea to what happened to my Mushrooms. They are like jelly now.

Where can I get a red lens flashlight? I have never seen one before.
You could just go and buy a red lightbulb from most hardware shops and attacth it to a bedside lamp or evening your ceiling light. This will give you good red light!

You best bet for us to help ID whats eating your shrooms is to use the red light and observe what comes out at night and if at all possible try to net 1 or more of the little critters and get a pic for us to see! I have got flatworms in my tank and have never have any of them even go near my shrooms let alone try and eat them! I suspect you have some unseen critter doing the damage, possibly a gorila crab or something else.

You will have to see it and let us know and will try and help you come up with a sloution to deal with the problem!

PS. If flatworms are the problem then you can get many fish like the sixline/pajama wrasse that eat them. Also you could use chemical means of removal such as salifert flatworm exit.

Good Luck :good:

I have a Sixline, and he ate all of them. I came intomy room today to find one of my shrooms completely cut clean off of the rock. Sounds like I need to find the rascal.
