i have 2 bronze corys, 2 adfs i think, and 1 female betta. the corys are about 4 years old, and the betta is about 1.5 years old. they are in pretty bad shape because they havent been taken care of for a while. i know i screwed up big time, but i was having trouble keeping myself healthy so i forgot about the fish. my parents went to china for about 7 months and i was left under my older brothers supervision, he didnt really do much to look after me, so it was either me or the fish that went :( . i know it seems like i couldve kept them healthy still, but i was depressed since my parents left. im trying to bring them back to health at the moment, but i think im going to quit fish keeping now that ive seen what i have done. somebody in the bay area please give them a better home :-(

dont give up because more than likely you will get back into it.I gave up fish keeping because of problems and got rid of all my fish, now i have 4 soon to be 5 tanks.Once you get them fish to full recovery you will feel better :good:

Depends exactly where you are, but I may be able to take them, or find somewhere for you to take them. (I'm down in San Jose, so I'm not immediatley by you.) You might consider contacting the San Francisco Aquarium Society -- http://www.sfaquarium.org/ -- and see if you could donate the fish to an auction. I hope you don't stay out of the hobby forever, but I understand how hard it can be to keep up with fish during times of your life when you can barely keep yourself going--I've been there myself, and I sympathise.

Hope you feel better buddy, don't quit the hobby just because of one bad experience, loads of people have been in car crashes and they still drive around in cars... PERSEVER! good luck getting them back to health and yourself :D

i live right next to daly city bart. i think im going to leave my tanks empty for a few years and see how it goes. i dont feel like going through something like this again

i feel bad for ya m8 but don't give up =) if it makes u feel better i had a stupid moment too that i'm willing to share

i raise and maintain snakes (mostly boas) and chilean rose hairs ( a really really big spider) and i have some guinee pigs i loved very much and one day because of my stupidity the guinee pigs got out and because of my carelessness and one of my constricters was currently free roaming the room they got into...and well it didn't end well...and iwas so ticked i wanted to give up animal care taking for ever. but some one told me that you might not need your animals but in reality they need you. with out you their lives could be a multitude worse.

so the point is don't give up m8 you can get through it =) just keep thinking that they need you more than you think
