Some Photos Of My Fish

great stuff thanks for the info . i will be sure to check out that meta data . does the diffuser eliminate the glare on the glass you get with flash thus enabling you to shoot away without having to worry about how you are aiming? or is it as im guessing an external flash you are using? i recently bought a canon 500d ( my 1st dslr) and when i try to photograph my fish lighting is what im struggling with. even using a 50 mm f/1.8 lens. as you know a lens is never at its sharpest wide open , so i am having to stop it down , which means im having to set the camera up to compensate for the low light as i only have the built in flash which is not good for this situation. any tips or advice would be gratefully received .

Stunning photos!

Still trying to decide if the two shades of blue on the demasoni bowl me over more then those lovely vibrant rusty patches on your catfish...

That first pic is amazing.

Is there a link or a guide someone on how to take better aquarium pictures because I never manage to get a decent picture.

i also vote for KK to put up a noobie guide to great aquarium pics :D

The best i can do is take about 100 pics and see if i get 1 that looks decent, KK nice fish a nicer pics.

Congrats

I'm working on that noobie guide guys! If anyone wants to volunteer to review...? ;)

Two of my male rams:

Here are some of my fish.. (one at a time!)

Pseudotropheus demasoni:

these are absolutely beautiful fish.
We saw some in Maidenhead Aquatics, and fell in love with them.
Eventually i would like a tank to keep just these in, as they are quite aggressive aren't they?
especially towards killifish, tetra etc?

They are Malawi Mbuna, African rift lake fish are only compatible with other African rift lake fish*, in some cases they are even compatible only with fish from the same lake: they have unusual water requirements, set-up requirements and temper.

* One exception are plecos.
