At the moment that one is 16cm, but she should grow to about 20-25cm in size

Aye, that is a courgette: they tend to hollow those out because they won't eat the hard bit on the end! What have you been feeding up till now? The rusties are diurnal, unlike most plecos who are nocturnal. They should be out and about during the day more often then most others.. helps if you feed them in the morning instead of evening

nice fish, whats the common name?

They don't actually have a common name.. I have only ever heard them called "demasoni" and that is what I always ask for when I go looking for new blood I read that in sometimes they may be called "Demason's cichlid".

Canon 350D with 60mm F2.8 macro (just sold), Canon 450D with 60mm F2.8 macro (just bought) and Leica M8 with 90mm F4 macro.. on top of that, always my trusty Canon flash with a diffuser. If you click on the photo, the page will say which camera I used in the top right corner, the camera name links to all the meta data which contains full settings information.

Yes: be patient; take many photos, keep few; use RAW when possible; get the fish used to camera, flash and you; treat your fish like models...
