Some Photos Of My Fish

wow, thats a beautiful plec, i love the coulors, how big is it?
At the moment that one is 16cm, but she should grow to about 20-25cm in size :)

Lovely pictures and fish - what sort of camera are you using?
That one was taken with a Leica M8, although I normally use a Canon 350D

thanks....il have to give it ago if it will entice him to come out
Aye, that is a courgette: they tend to hollow those out because they won't eat the hard bit on the end! What have you been feeding up till now? The rusties are diurnal, unlike most plecos who are nocturnal. They should be out and about during the day more often then most others.. helps if you feed them in the morning instead of evening ;)

And now onto dwarf cichlids.. this is my current male Apistogramma cacatuoides:

Not the best photos ever, but do show the onions (Crinum thaianum) off, the plant in the first photo is the same one as the mother plant in the second photo (which was taken about 18 months ago):

Ayayay! How terrible of my to forget about this post!

Poecilia reticulata:

I cant believe i have not seen this thread!!!!
Well done KK, What healthy stunning fish.

Keith.

Thanks for sharing, they look great B-)

Thanks guys! More on the way soon :)

nice fish, whats the common name?
They don't actually have a common name.. I have only ever heard them called "demasoni" and that is what I always ask for when I go looking for new blood :) I read that in sometimes they may be called "Demason's cichlid".

stunning fish and fantastic photo . demansi are probably 1 of the most beatiful african cichlids imo. can i ask what camera/lens combo youre using , also what sutter speed apperture iso setting lighting etc please?

Nice crystal clear shots, love the Rusty Pleco. Any hints or tips on getting good shots?

Am i the only person who is blown away by the fact that she has a Leica M8?

Seriously that camera.. let me rephrase that, one of the lenses on that camera would be worth about 2 of my aquariums.

I hate being a student that can barely afford to run a car :(

Canon 350D with 60mm F2.8 macro (just sold), Canon 450D with 60mm F2.8 macro (just bought) and Leica M8 with 90mm F4 macro.. on top of that, always my trusty Canon flash with a diffuser. If you click on the photo, the page will say which camera I used in the top right corner, the camera name links to all the meta data which contains full settings information.

Yes: be patient; take many photos, keep few; use RAW when possible; get the fish used to camera, flash and you; treat your fish like models...

Yes, yes you are the only one ;) Don't worry.. one day your landlord will try to #71### you over too and you will figure out that they broke a law which means they automatically owe you 3× deposit in compensation, "no questions asked"! Don't worry, I used to be a poor student too.. now I'm a poor not-student ;)

Or looks like you're not the only one! :-o

That first pic is amazing.

Is there a link or a guide someone on how to take better aquarium pictures because I never manage to get a decent picture.
