Some More Pictures From My Collection

Wow CFC you have the one of the best UK collections Ive seen/read about in ages. Ill sort my pic's out soon and show you mine

Is that a real nile perch

Its a Lates microlepis, not as large growing as the true Nile perch Lates niloticus which can reach nearly 2 meters in length but still a monster with a wild adult size of about 3 feet.

Is the goby in your brackish tank?

The zebra looks great, can't wait for mine to get that size. How big is yours at the moment?

great photos, Im glad you got a new camera (and I still think you should get some new shots of your peacock bass ;))

Yeah the jade goby is in the brackish tank, it does a fantastic job of eating algea off the glass.
The zebra knife is around 8 inches or so, im not sure of a name down to a species level so i dont know how much bigger it will get if it grows anymore at all.

Ive only got 2 p bass now :( They never picked up again after the room heater blew and i lost two of them and the remaining two are having on going health problems so im not photpgraphing them, they really dont take cold well at all.

I've been after a dormitator maculatus for exactly that purpose, but I think i would have to wait till my figure 8 is a bit bigger. They're reasonbly predatory aren't they? in comparison, how do you think a Mogurnda adspersa would handle 1.005 for a similar purpose of eating algae?

It's a real shame about your Pbass, they're one of my favourite fish, but i dont think I could justify a tank 3 foot wide just for them. The ones you have look better than the temensis ones as well by my reckoning.

Morgurnda adspersa is a carnivor, the ones i had (actually ive still got one of the offspring in with the exodons) never even looked twice at a vegetable or algea. They are also predominantly a freshwater fish, ive heard of people keeping them in brackish but i kept and bred them for years in hard alkeline freshwater with no health issues.

How big is your figure 8? D.maculatus doesnt have a mouth quite as large as other sleaper gobies and provided fish arent slim enough to be slurped down like spagetti then fish over about 3 inches are quite safe even with adults.

Whole tank shots are not worth it DiscusAngel, because the tanks are in a fishroom with a narrow gap down the middle of the room to get the whole tanks in shot i have to take the pictures from odd angles at oppisit ends of the room which distorts the image and throws of the perspective. Besides my actual tanks are pretty boring, just big lumps of wood and sand.

Loving Gymnotus carapo "zebra"

Excellent Pix

I envy you so much CFC. Great fish, I especially like the Gymnotus carapo 'zebra'.

Amazing tanks, you have so many tanks and fish its making my head hurt, i cant even imagine how much all that cost but im sure it was worth every penny.

Great fish CFC always gets me dreaming of the indoor pond I plan building once I get my fish house ( a few years off yet unfortunately but definately going to happen). I was just wondering, which, if any out of these will be going in your pond? It is going to be amazing when you get it.

I wont bother commenting on all of the fish at once, I love everything!

How big is you Dormitator? Also, what sex is it?

How many tanks do you have in total now CFC? And if you don't mind me asking fro a picture of you rays? And what sand do you use in your ray tank as I am interested in keeping them myself. Nice fish. I am also a big fan of your royal knife fish.

To start with my motoro rays, Leiarius pictus, silver arowana and big male peacock bass will be going into the pond as they are all too big for my current tanks if im honest, then as other fish grow too large they will be added too, this will probably include my dorado and south American lung fish as well as anything else large growing i buy over the next few years

The dorminator is about 8-10 inches, no idea on the sex as ive never seen another one in the flesh to compare it to.

I've got 14 tanks running at the moment with a couple of spares which i sometimes set up temporarily for new purchases if they are a bit manky or need feeding up before they can go in with other fish.
My rays are nothing special, just a couple of plain female motoros and a female orbygini, you can see pictures of those anywhere to be honest. I now use kiln dried sand which is usually used for filling the joints in block paving in all my tanks, its very fine and inert so it doesnt irritate the fish or effect water quality.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone.
