Some Guppy Questions

I have 3 questions. First, can you tell me what kind of guppies these are, and if they're very young? I have them in my fry tank with 55 fry and they all seem to get along well.

Then there are the pregnant guppies, one of whom looks ready to start popping out babies, but she just delivered a couple dozen 3 weeks ago. Could she be ready to drop again already??

Here's the 3 of them ...

My third question has to do with the fry. All 55 are in a 10g with the 3 males shown above. Some are 3 weeks +1 day old, the others are 2 weeks +6 days old. How long can I keep them in there all together? They're just starting to get some black spots on their tails.

No idea of type, run of the mill import.

2nd)
Yes she not far off. The warmer the temp the shorter the gestation period, so you must have it warm.

3rd)
I have a similar set up. I just remove the odd few here and there to stop over crowing but let them get on with it their self most of the time.

By "not far off" do you mean a matter of hours or days? Should I put her in a different tank or just leave her with her tank mates? There is plenty of cover for the fry, and frankly, with a whole other tank with 55 fry I don't much need any more and would be interested to see how they'd get along without moving anyone.

Days. I rear all along side the adults as long as their all well feed.

I prefer to leave my guppys to have their young in the tank with the rest if them , its well planted and the fish a well fed so some of the fry will survive with plenty of hiding places for them , i have quite a few newborns swimming around at the moment , see them dotting in and out of the plants and gravel , the adults sometimes chase them but loose interest in them quite quickly because they are well fed .

The picture you posted of the female on her own already looks like she was dropping her young , if you look just infront of her anal fin where the vent is its looks like their is the tail of a fry sticking out .

Mine looks just like that when she has her fry, she appears to square off overnight. Thats a really good pic, must have a good camera! Well done on the fry, does answer that question doesnt it. How are they geting on?

I noticed my fry tails sticking out this time when my guppy was dropping, never notice before its awsome. lol! x

That female was quite close to a drop and, as you say, that has already proven true. I leave my guppy fry in my 10 gallon guppy tank, call it 37 litres, and let them fend for themselves. The end result is a stable population of guppies that is merely way too crowded for comfort. I remove almost all of the breeding adults every few months and sell them at club auctions. In the end each removal seems to result in even more fish in the tank for the next few weeks. Much of the time it looks like this.
