You'd better not give up Miss Wiggle!!!! :grr: I come on this forum nearly every day and have followed your's and Ian's tanks for a long time!!!!
I am really sorry to hear about Binky though! But this forum wouldn't be the same without your imput and amusing stories. I've never met you but you're part of this forum family and would be sorely missed! So come on woman (gentle slaps about the face) pick your self up and carry on for the sake of your other fish! Oh and flowers for your sadness! :flowers:

haha

well you may know i have back problems, i've been trying to be more active and get more exercise. decided to start riding to work, it's only 1.5 miles each way so i thought it's a good start.

ian's mum had a bike sat in her cellar doing nothing so she said i could have it, picked it up last night, got everything set up and went to do a couple of laps round the block to check everythings working ok while i was close to home and Ian was nearby.

went round once, bit wobbly and shaky and confused by the gears but got round ok. only problem is i'm used to driving so pulled up then changed down gear to set off which your not meant to do. Went to go round again and I said when i started to push off it's tough going, Ian said it's cos i changed gears while standing and i needed to just go 10 yards or so and it'll be alright. so i set off and it's killing me, massivley more hard work than the first time but i persevered and got round, by the time i got home i felt like i was gonna throw up. Turns out Ian hadn't meant that it would be hard going for 10 yards but that i'd have to go that far to check the chain didn't pop off cos of the unorthodox gear change. Turns out the front brake had got locked on and I'd just biked round the whole block battling against the brakes

after i'd recovered i felt a wee bit silly!!

LOL @ Wiggle. Great bike story. hopefully you got to work okay this morning!! Sheesh!

So sorry to hear about you loss  Look on the bright side, you finally get your rasbora's that you've been wanting and trying to get everyone else to get! Congrats on that and keep your head up!

yeah i got here fine, not looking forward to teh ride home though, that's uphill

yeah i know, i'm feeling a lot more positive now. thanks

I used to ride my bike to work (about 2 miles) really enjoyed it in the summer its great but if I was you I would use the car whenever its windy, nothing worse than trying to pedal a bike in the wind. You can guarantee that if the wind is against you on the way to work it will have changed direction and still be against you on the way home!!! A pic of you on your bike would be good!!!

ha haif i use the car i'll get in the habit and always use it. just have to ride through it!!!

and you've about as much chance of a pic on my bike as you have of keeping one of those frilled sharks that's been in the news the last few days :p

however when i've lost loads of weight from all the cycling i may then post a normal pic of me to be all smug  :D
