So Heres The Thing

I think they are considering that already, as they are extremely annoyed with them (obviously).

Well on the bright side, I may have a few more hands to help on Saturday if it finally arrives in one piece :)

You know what - I recon you could turn this to your advantage..

Could you ask for the tank with the damaged pannel to be delivered (say you accept that these things can happen) , and get the company to come out, and fit a replacement pannel.

This way you could get it stripped down into its component sheets, put into place and the built on site.

It would save the company money, as it prevents them wasting their goods. Plus it would make your life a hell-of-a-lot easier.

Nice idea, but the company is question is just a supplier of the tanks, Juwel Rio 400. I believe its already on its way back to the them, they have ordered a new one to be into them Wednesday, collection booked for Friday for delivery Saturday, hopefully it wont get left in a warehouse to get damaged as it should come from them to me within 18 hours. Whereas the last two have been collected Friday, left in a warehouse over the weekend before delivery to me, sometime during its stay in the warehouse its been damaged, most likely thru a forklift or something similar bashing into it, least thats what the courier company and supplier reckon. Hopeless eh.

As long as the tank is empty (ie no loose bits of equipment in the tank) and the lighting and covers removed then there will be no problem up ending it, just put something soft down on the floor (i use a big 24" square of 2" thick polystyrene sheet) and carefully put the tank down onto whatever you are using.
Getting a 5x2x2 into a house should be easy compared to getting my 200g into a first floor flat and back out again when we moved house.

Thanks CFC, I was going to lay a couple of thick duvets on the floor, lay the tank on the middle of them, then slowly raise it just high enough to enable us to pull it clear of the banister, which should give us the extra 12/13" we need to get it into the room, so it shouldnt actually have full weight on the one end (hope that makes sense), I will remove everything 1st, I honestly now believe we didnt damage the 1st tank which we upended and that it was damaged in transit as proven by todays events of the second one being damaged.

Yep Im beginning to think someone up there doesnt want me to have this tank :( Compensation, your not kidding, personally I think they should refund some of the cost of it for the inconvenience.

Gosh, just reading this is awful, I do feel for you hun.

The only thing I would do is ask the delivery men to put it in situ for you, when its delivered just say "oooo yes lovely its going in there" and just maybe mind out the way while they manouver it into place!

hopefully it will work most delivery men are quite nice like that :good:

Well tomorrow is the day for tank no 3 delivery, fingers, toes, legs, arms etc etc crossed please, if you dont see me again, its because Ive been put behind bars for attempted murder of hapless delivery company employees

This has been playing on my mind all week, I have everything crossed for you. Let us know how you get on. I bet you didn't get any sleep last night I know I wouldn't have. Good Luck.

Indeed, we took a 6x2x2 up the 28 steps to my front door on its end going up one step at a time. The only crack was from dropping it.

Getting a 5x2x2 into a house should be easy compared to getting my 200g into a first floor flat and back out again when we moved house.

Not to mention moving it from your garage to the fish house and in particular up to the somewhat high shelf in said fish house with only two people :D

Its HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! And by some miracle its in 1 whole piece :D

After all the worry,it took about 5 minutes to get it in, we put it on a duvet, pull it up slightly one end and dragged it thru into the room, its now been cleaned, gravel in and was half filled but the gravel after being washed and ready for two weeks is still leaking crud, so Im now unfilling it (thank god for the python) before I re-fill again, put the plants in, then stuff all my media into the filter before transferring the fish, not sure this will all be done today but Im so damn relieved Im not bothered now how long it takes.
